A fantastic ski trip
I am writing in response to the recent ski weekend that my family and I took at Greek Peak. These compliments are directed straight towards the wonderful staff at the mountain and Hope Lake Lodge. Everyone that we encountered throughout our 2 day stay had a smile on their faces and were happy to help in any way! Each and every person from the ski lift operators to the ski rental crew and the lodge front desk were friendly and helped to make our vacation wonderful.
Thank you for all that you have done to make your employees happy! It shows in everything that they do!

Our annual family snowboarding trip
We spent our second long weekend this past February at Hope Lake Lodge. This year we stayed in the Loon Swallow suite and it was perfect for a family of 5. Snowboarding at Greek Peak was awesome as always. Mostly man made snow this year, but it was really well groomed and we were very impressed with the conditions when we got on the mountain as we were expecting it to be unbearable. We put our 6 and 8 year old in the group lessons this year and I have to say that I preferred it over the private lessons. Group lessons on boards will say that they only take 7 and up, but call and discuss your child’s ability with them. When I did I discovered that the rule is mostly due to their availability of equipment for rental. Since we rent at home and bring with us, this wasn’t an issue and my 6 year old is already an intermediate boarder as he practices all winter on the hill across the street form our house on Long Island. I felt that both of my children made much more progress in the group lesson because it is more structured. The private instructors were great, but my kids could easily tell them they were cold and ask to go inside for a good deal of the lesson time.
I also tried the spa for the first time this year since due to an injury I only boarded a few runs. It was absolutely beautiful. The view from the pedicure chair is worth the visit alone. The staff was very friendly. I will definitely book a spa appointment ahead of time next year. We can’t wait to go back!

Who kept this place a secret?
This place was awesome! Great family resort, staff was excellent, place was clean, and the skiing was one of the best in NY. No lines! We were concerned the lines may have been long because we planned on skiing on a Saturday during spring break. But they have so many lifts that there was never a line. Place is well run. We signed up the kids for a lesson and the instructor was excellent. Our instructor, Chris, was patient with the kids and got them skiing in no time. I don’t know how I never heard of this place. I plan on going back.

Great place for skiing family vacation
We booked a family suite and a winter ski camp (5 days skiing for kids) for 2012 Christmas vacation. My two kids with my husband spent all 5 days skiing and snowboarding. It is super well organized ski camp with great instructors both for kids and adults and very friendly personnel. I had to stay in a hotel with my youngest daughter. The hotel is very comfortable, not too crowded as Wolf Lodge and there is enough services on the site – friendly and affordable babysitting, indoor water park, lovely spa. For dinners we stayed one night in the hotel restaurant, which was fine and then every night we went to Cortland for different dining experience. The best was Hairy Tony pub on the Main st. – highly recommended for any taste and age, as everything was cooked to perfection.
