Greek Peak Mountain Resort is currently looking for a Banquet Manager. This position is an exempt position with full-time benefits.
Responsible for all operational aspects of banquets, both on and off resort in order to offer the highest-level of service and customer satisfaction.  Provides leadership, training , and direction for all banquet employees within food and beverage.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist the Catering Manager in all aspects required to run the events department effectively.
  2. Responsible for weekly linen orders.
  3. Required to attend weekly BEO meetings.
  4. Works as the liaison with onsite event vendors. i.e. DJs, Photographers, Bakeries, Florists, etc.
  5. Point of contact for clients upon arrival.
  6. Ensure all venue spaces are properly set up for each event in a timely fashion.
  7. Oversee all event supervisors – make sure they are set up for success and have all of the information required.
  8. Schedule venue space flips to ensure staff is available and has the direction needed to changeover banquet space.
  9. Create and distribute all directional event signage.
  10. Work with other departments regarding check in requests / room needs on day of arrival, vouchers to be distributed, etc.
  11. Responsible for all common areas of the resort to be free of all banquet supplies and furniture.
  12. Responsible for ordering all front of the house banquet supplies – these items should be confirmed and approved by the Catering Manager.
  13. Proper PO process to be taken before ordering items.
  14. Responsible for putting in work orders for maintenance needs on all venue spaces timely.
  15. Responsible for safety checks and inspections for the catering spaces.
  16. Responsible to ensure all I.T. items are put away and properly inventoried on a monthly basis.
  17. Responsible for coming up with best practices among the banquet staff.
  18. Responsible for training all servers and supervisors on best practices.
  19. Responsible for bar checklist and bar signage for events.
  20. Responsible for proper communication between the Catering Manager and the Banquet Chefs for all dietary needs and special requests for each and event.
  21. Responsible for making sure all operating supplies are up to par and when items are low. Proper steps and processes for ordering are taken.
  22. Off season (December – March) – Assist with restaurants as a supervisor when needed. Assist with any directives requested by the Food and Beverage Management.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  1. High school diploma, general education degree (GED), Associates Degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in a similar job role or a minimum of 4 years of experience as a Banquet Supervisor. Experience in hotel management software or point of sale software preferred.
  2. The proven ability to effectively balance multiple events/tasks while being a hands-on leader.
  3. A track record of success in hospitality leadership roles with significant experience in Food & Beverage, preferably in multi-faceted, seasonal resorts.
  4. Experience managing large and diverse teams.
  5. Technically competent with hospitality software and Microsoft Office products.
  6. Energetic self-starter, with strong leadership skills, work ethic, and highest level of integrity.
  7. Effective oral, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  8. This position requires a very flexible and at times demanding schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
