CASH OFFICE – ACCOUNTING CLERK

Job Title:                 Cash Office – Accounting Clerk
Reports To:             CFO
FLSA Status:           Non-Exempt
Salary:                     $16.50 hourly

Summary: 
This Position’s primary function is to deal with cash and cash management reporting to management. Due to the sensitive nature of accounting information, strict confidentiality must be maintained.
– Day shift, weekend availability will be required
– Candidate must pass a background check

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Verifies and resets Start bags for all cash handling locations.
  • Follows up with appropriate people on any cash drawer variances for corrective action.
  • Maintains an accurate count of cash in the company safe.
  • Provides cash summary reporting for General Ledger team.
  • Performs daily integrations of POS systems into main accounting system.
  • Follows established safety procedures. Complies with all policies and procedures.
  • Due to the sensitive nature of accounting information, strict confidentiality must be maintained.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with four to six years of direct cash handling experience OR Associates Degree with two to four years of related experience two years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to perform cash handling skills.

Analytical Ability:
Ability to collect and analyze financial information, problem-solve, and make independent decisions with minimal supervision.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.  Ability to multitask and change priorities as situations occur.  Ability to adapt to unforeseen situations.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Edge & Microsoft Office platforms such as Word & Excel are a must.
