Job Title: Utility Person/Steward
Reports to: Food & Beverage Management
Wage: $11.10 per hour
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: Responsible for efficiently washing dishes, silverware, pots, and pans using manual or automated methods. This position may be involved in other kitchen duties as assigned by management, such as food prep and food deliveries.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Wash and sanitize dishes, silverware, pots, pans and miscellaneous items using a sink or automated dishwasher.
- Follow proper procedures regarding using the machinery required.
- Follow established practices for transporting and storing dirty or clean items.
- Follow established food sanitary requirements and safety precautions.
- Maintain an orderly, clean and safe work area and storage facilities.
- Provides assistance to other departments of the resort to contribute to its smooth operation.
- Attends department and all-employee meetings as required.
- Follows established safety procedures.
- Complies with all resort policies and procedures.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or employees of organization and guests one on one to resolve problems.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to multitask and change priorities as situations occur. Ability to adapt to unforeseen situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to high temperatures, steam, and sharp objects (i.e. knives, cutting machines, etc.). The employee is also occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; bloodborne pathogens, outdoor weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
