Maybe It’s Time to Give Trax Another Look

Restaurants have a funny way of getting frozen in time. You have a meal somewhere, form an opinion, and sometimes that opinion sticks around a whole lot longer than the menu does.

But restaurants change. Teams change. Ideas change. And in the case of Trax Pub & Grill at Greek Peak, quite a bit has been changing.

So if it’s been a while since you’ve pulled up a chair at Trax, consider this your friendly invitation to come take another look.

Building on a Good Thing

When Food & Beverage Director Brad arrived at Greek Peak, he wasn’t looking at Trax as something that needed to be completely reinvented.

The bones were already there.

“Trax already had a strong foundation, great views of the action, and a loyal customer base,” Brad said. “What excited me was the opportunity to build on that foundation by creating more reasons for guests and locals to visit throughout the year, not just during ski season.”

That idea has helped shape many of the changes guests are seeing today.

Now entering his second ski season at Greek Peak, Brad and the Food & Beverage team have been focused on one big thing: making the overall experience better.

That means better reasons to visit. Better ways to order. More happening when you get there. And, yes, plenty of reasons to hang around awhile.

Trax Has a Little More Traction These Days

One of the most noticeable changes has been the energy inside the restaurant.

Live music has become a regular part of weekends at Trax, while rotating food specials and featured meal nights have given guests something new to discover throughout the week.

“They’ve helped turn Trax into more of a destination,” Brad said. “Live music brings people together, rotating specials give guests something new to look forward to, and the atmosphere improvements help create an experience that’s about more gathering than just dining.”

That can mean settling in for Sunday brunch, catching a band after a day on the mountain, or stopping by for one of the weekday featured dinners.

The goal is simple: Trax shouldn’t just be the place you happen to eat while you’re at Greek Peak. It should be one of the reasons you’re glad you stayed.

The Food Is Evolving, Too

The changes aren’t limited to what’s happening around the tables.

Brad and his team have also introduced new menu offerings and specials, while continuing to refine what works and experiment with what guests respond to.

And increasingly, the experience doesn’t even have to start at the table.

Online pre-ordering has become another piece of the puzzle, particularly during ski season when nobody wants lunch to turn into an extended intermission from the mountain.

Brad says the team understands that guests may only have a limited amount of time before they want to get back outside.

“We recognize people want to be out on the mountain and know that Trax is available when they’re ready,” he said. “By having online pre-ordering ready, we can satisfy those guests that want to grab a bite and head right back to the mountain.”

Sometimes improving the dining experience means making it easier to spend less time dining. There’s probably a ski-resort life lesson in there somewhere.

Listening Is Part of the Recipe

None of these changes happened in a vacuum. Guest feedback continues to play a role in where Trax goes next.

The team pays attention to what people enjoy, what they want more of, and where there are opportunities to improve.

That willingness to listen is important because improvement at Greek Peak rarely happens all at once. It happens one change at a time.

A new special here. A better ordering option there. A band on the weekend. A little more atmosphere. A little more convenience. And suddenly, the experience starts feeling different.

Heading Into Another Ski Season

As Brad enters his second ski season at Greek Peak, he says there’s a sense of momentum around Trax.

“We’re continuing to refine the menu, expand programming and events, and look for new ways to enhance the experience,” he said. “There’s a lot of positive energy heading into the season.”

And that might be the most important part of this story. Trax isn’t finished. Neither is Greek Peak. There is always another idea to try, another experience to improve, and another reason to make the next visit a little better than the last one.

Come See Trax With Fresh Eyes

Brad put it pretty simply when I asked what he’d say to someone who hasn’t stopped into Trax in a while.

“Come see Trax with fresh eyes.”

That feels about right. Maybe you remember a different menu. Maybe you remember a different atmosphere. Maybe you just haven’t thought about Trax lately. Either way, there’s more happening now – live music, new specials, brunch, featured dinners, easier ordering, gatherings and events, and a team that’s still looking for ways to make the experience better.

So consider this your excuse to stop back in. Grab a table. Catch a band. Try something new. And make some new Trax memories.
