Our wedding was incredible!
Our daughter had her wedding this July in Virgil with her rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception at Gatherings. She and her husband had an evening cocktail party the night before the wedding under an outdoor tent and breakfast the morning after the event at Hope Lake Lodge. The entire weekend was outstanding and we would like to compliment both Gatherings and Hope Lake Lodge for going above and beyond our expectations! Both these terrific establishments are hidden resources that provide amazing service for special events. After comparing prices for hotels in Cortland and Ithaca, we found Hope Lake Lodge to have summer rates similar to other area hotels while offering so many more amenities, such as Hope Lake and its hiking trails, waterslides, spa, shuttle to Gatherings – less than a mile away and atmosphere which surpasses anything in our area. Our many out-of-town wedding guests had a fabulous visit and enjoyed their weekend stay using the grounds, bar area, and fabulous rooms. Gatherings and Hope Lake Lodge are a valuable asset to our area.
We want to thank everyone who helped us make the wedding weekend so memorable.
Great place for an event!
I just wanted you to know how happy we all were with how Mike Bronowich’s event turned out on Saturday, 9/22/12. Everything was in place and ready to go at the designated time. Your friendly staff greeted us at the front desk, Marie was great with setting up the room and the bar and wait staff were pleasant and wonderful. Everything was just as we asked for it to be. The room was absolutely the perfect size. Glad we got the bigger room! Mike and his extended family stayed at the lodge. Grandkids were in the waterpark and in the suites the entire time and had a ball while we adults enjoyed ourselves!
Food was great, desserts were great. Bar was stocked as you said. Every detail was taken care of. Every single guest commented on the lobby, the fireplace, the “lodge” atmosphere. And I just heard from an employee that Mike told them the suite they had was top notch.
Please communicate to the staff that was there what a great job they did. I have talked to our President about meetings, team building, etc. that might be nice to have up there. I’ve also started to talk to our EAC people about having a Mohawk family event(s) there. My husband and I saw the waterpark and there were lots of smiling faces. So there may be more to come in 2013!
We had a ball!
I took my two granddaughters, ages 12 and 13, to the Adventure Center. The 13-year old was excited, but the 12-year-old was apprehensive. The 13-year-old completed all three of the zip-line levels and had a fabulous time. Since the 12-y213-old was too short for the upper levels of Aerial Challenge, the staff let her make multiple circuits of the lowest level challenge course. She had an absolute ball and actually lapped me on the challenge courses by the time she was finished. The Mountain Coasters were a big hit. The self-speed-setting feature was truly appreciated by all of us. The lines for Euro-bungee took a while to go through, but those of us who participated felt it was well worth the wait. All staff members were very professional and courteous and made doubly sure we were hooked up correctly.
