Admission & Schedule:
Your admission includes access to both courses, so you can choose to tackle them all or just pick your favorite.
- Course A is a 30-target moderate course designed for a fun, relaxed challenge.
- Course B is also 30 targets but built for archers looking for a tougher test.
The day begins with registration at the base of the ski resort (2000 NYS Route 392, Cortland, NY 13045). Registration is open from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and the last participants must enter the course by 11:30 AM.
Once registered, ride the Chair Lift to the top of the mountain to start either course. The last chair ride up will be at 2:30 PM, so plan your shooting schedule accordingly.
Between rounds, enjoy the atmosphere at the base of the mountain. Vendors will be set up near the chair lift and on the Trax Deck (or indoors if it rains), and a food truck will be serving throughout the day.
Both courses officially start at the base of Chair 5 (Tone Road).
Scoring:
Scoring follows IBO (International Bowhunting Organization) rules on 3D targets:
- 11-ring: Smallest inner circle (inside the 10-ring) – 11 points.
- 10-ring: Surrounding the 11-ring – 10 points.
- 8-ring: Largest vital-area ring (heart/lungs) – 8 points.
- 5 points: Any other body shot outside the 8-ring.
- 0 points: A complete miss.

🎯 Score sheets may be turned in, but scoring is primarily for fun and bragging rights this year. There will be raffle prizes at the end, and scores can be posted/announced.
Class:
For this first year of the Summit Shootout, everyone will shoot from the same stake. That means all archers, regardless of experience, will compete on equal footing.
We’re also keeping things simple by allowing the use of range finders and any bow equipment you’d like to bring. This way, whether you’re shooting with a fully tuned compound bow or sticking with traditional gear, you can enjoy the course at your own pace.
Looking ahead, we plan to introduce additional classes in future years to give participants even more ways to compete and challenge themselves.
Equipment:
- Allowed: Compound bows and traditional bows.
- Not allowed: Crossbows.
- Arrows: Field tips or field points only (no broadheads).
- Other Equipment: Stabilizers, adjustable or fixed pins, lenses, clarifiers, etc. are permitted.
Door Prize Drawings:
Stick around after the shoot for a chance to win! We’ll be holding door prize drawings at 4:30 PM on the Trax Pub & Grill Deck.
Every registered participant is automatically entered, but remember — you must be present to win. It’s the perfect way to wrap up the day with your fellow archers and celebrate the event together.
