Greek Peak Mountain Resort Unveils New Four-Year Snowmaking Infrastructure Investment

July 14, 2025

CORTLAND, New York (July 14, 2025) – Greek Peak Mountain Resort is proud to announce a transformative four-year capital investment plan that will modernize and expand its snowmaking capabilities and infrastructure across the mountain. With a projected total investment of $2.51 million over the four-year plan, the initiative essentially extends and builds on their snow-making efforts to date, and it also reflects Greek Peak’s continued commitment to elevating the guest experience and maintaining its reputation as Central New York’s Home Mountain and premier ski destination.

The new upgrades, underway now for the coming 2025-26 season and continuing through the 2028-29 season, will include extensive pipe installations, high-efficiency snow guns, hydrant upgrades, and pump capacity improvements, laying the groundwork for unmatched snow coverage and consistency regardless of weather patterns.

The Greek Peak Mountain Operations crew is currently working on pipe installations across Upper and Lower Karyatis and will work their way to East Meadow, Boardwalk, and Lower Pollux from there, adding new snow guns with KLIK hydrants ahead of the 2025-26 ski season.

Subsequent years of the four-year plan will build on this foundation with continued pipe replacements in the areas of Upper Pollux, Marathon, and Wendy’s Way with infrastructure additions to include valves and valve huts to streamline water control, while the upgraded pump systems continue to support elevated output capacity. These updates pave the way for a possible expansion on the east side of the mountain in Chair 5 territory, including Arcadian Gate, Crisaean Way, Arethusa Way, and Mars Hill. As the snowmaking infrastructure nears completion, Greek Peak hopes to have added up to 250 HKD snow guns added across the mountain over the four years.

Commitment to Efficiency and Guest Experience
“Snowmaking is the heart of our winter operation,” said Wes Kryger, President of Greek Peak Mountain Resort. “This four-year plan represents some aggressive infrastructure upgrades coming on the heels of most recent efforts. It not only increases our efficiency and sustainability but ensures guests can count on top-tier conditions season after season.”

“Our goal is simple, to deliver the best skiing and riding experience possible. This investment reinforces our mission to create unforgettable memories for our ski guests at Central New York’s Home Mountain,” Kryger added.

To complement the new four year plan announcement, Greek Peak launched a special “Blizzard in July” one-week only promotion (July 14-20) that features some new products and some guest favorites that come out during the winter season.
